WHO WE ARE

The Westborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is a group of family members of children with disabilities or special learning needs, who educate each other, support each other, exchange ideas and information, and collaborate with school professionals and administrators.

Massachusetts law mandates and supports a Parent Advisory Counsel for each public school district in the state.

How do I know if SEPAC can help me?

If   your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 accommodation plan, if your child is struggling with academic, social, behavioral, or medical challenges, or if you're concerned about your child and don't know where else to turn, the SEPAC is for you.  Put simply, SEPAC is here to help you navigate through the rough waters!  We encourage participation from all interested community members.

WHAT WE DO

  • We advocate for a quality  education for our students and an atmosphere of mutual respect, open communication and understanding among all students, parents, teachers and staff.
  • We advise the Westborough school administration and School Committee on special education issues.
  • We assist families to participate effectively in the special education process and improve their quality of life.
  • We care about you and your family.

 HOW WE DO IT

  • We provide workshops, presentations, and discussions for families and professionals.
  • We host monthly meetings and coffees for families to get support and answers from other families and SEPAC volunteers.
  • We meet regularly with school administrators.
  • We maintain a website and provide information via email about resources, programs, and other educational opportunities available throughout the state.
